Acta S.p.A – Italian-based Acta has been a public company for only a couple of years and its shares are listed with those of many other new technology developers on London’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM). Acta develops and produces platinum-free catalysts for the fuel cell industry. Platinum catalysts are a hindrance to the widespread development of fuel cells because they are expensive and limit the fuels that can be used to hydrogen and methanol. Acta’s technology is intended to permit fuel cells to run on ethanol, ethylene glycol and gasoline.
