New Alternatives Fund – This quarter-century old mutual fund invests in companies which, according to the fund, emphasize alternative energy and the environment. Companies included engage specifically in solar, wind, hydro, fuel cells, geothermal, ocean power, biomass and more. The fund’s other areas of investment include recycling and natural foods. While the fund invests in natural gas, it does not invest in oil, coal or nuclear firms. |
