Royal Dutch Shell –– In addition to being a major integrated oil and gas firm, Shell is involved in renewable energy – especially wind and solar – plus also CTL (coal-to-liquids) technology, hydrogen fuel cell technology and more. The company says it has so far invested more than $1 billion in renewable energy and hydrogen projects. In April 2007 it joined a coalition of companies that want the U.S. Congress to impose limits on greenhouse gasses tied to global warming. |
