Sharp Corp. –– This Japanese company, which makes a wide variety of consumer electronics products, is also on the leading edge of solar technology development. It is among the world’s biggest makers of solar cells and has reportedly forecast that by 2010 it will cut in half the cost of generating solar power. Sharp reportedly expects commercial and industrial demand for solar to grow strongly thanks to governments’ subsidies and other factors. |
