Spectra Green Fund – For the most part, this mutual fund, managed by Fred Alger Management, encompasses companies of all sorts that exhibit sustainable business practices. While a few are directly involved in developing energy technologies (i.e., General Electric and MEMC Electronic Materials), many are retailers, web sites and others that the fund believes have what might be called a green mindset. According to one of the fund’s managers – as quoted on the fund’s web site – “Our job is to find those growth companies that are mindful of the environment and the need to create a sustainable future.” |
