Tanfield Group – This British firm’s Smith Electric Vehicles unit builds commercial electric vehicles for the European and U.S. markets. It Smith Newton model reportedly has a range of up to 150 miles and a top speed of 50 miles per hour, which the company says makes it perfect for commercial urban use. The company expects to turn out up to 10,000 vehicles in 2010 from a new plant in California. |
